What they don't teach you in standard certificatio What they don't teach you in standard certifications can make or break your client results, and their trust in you.

These 10 sessions are niche "extras". They are the difference between simply running workouts, and truly changing lives.

This is exactly why I created the Belle Immersive Training: to give movement pros the missing tools, science, and confidence to support female clients through every life stage.

It has literally taking me almost 20 years of hands on client experience and dozens of certifications to gather this knowledge. And I want to summarize it all for you.

We're almost sold out for the upcoming September 25-28, 2025 4 day, 3 night lakeside retreat style training near Kingston, Ontario.

Comment TRAINING for the details ✨

72% of you polled said your ribs got wider, and st 72% of you polled said your ribs got wider, and stayed wider post pregnancy. The growing fetus presses the diaphragm up, reducing its range of motion, pressing the ribs outward.

We called this rib flare, and it's not just an aesthetic issue that makes you need to go out and get new bras. 👙

Permanently widened ribs impacts how you breathe and how efficient your core exercises will be, especially if you're trying to improve diastasis recti.

FUN FACT: rib flare leaves us in a permanently "inhaled" state, which means our diaphragm doesn't descend - so we get no vagus nerve stimulation. Basically - rib flare can make us feel more anxious because of how it impacts our breathing.

The bottom line is that we need to address rib flare to improve diastasis recti and pelvic floor function (and emotional state!).

These 3 movements are a staple in our Pilates Pelvic Floor & Core Restore classes. We have a WHOLE module on fixing rib flare.

Why do we do these exercises? Because we are building rib cage mobility. We are exaggerating the flare so we can start to connect to and train the muscles that pull the ribs back down.

Do you also deal with rib flare? Have you tried moves like this? Does the anxiety connection ring true for you? Check out the rib flare highlight here for more ✨

Yesterday, a new student in my Pilates class had a Yesterday, a new student in my Pilates class had a breakthrough. 🔥

She could never feel her lower abs before. She's 6 years postpartum and here for help on improving her diastasis recti.

Turns out she had been dedicatedly flattening her low back into the mat during ab exercises for as long as she can recall.

After all, this is how many fitness teachers were taught to instruct students to "protect their lower back" during abs.

The result? A lot of superficial muscle dominance and zero connection to the deep core. Lots of bracing down. You see the low abs pooch out instead of wrap and compress.

THIS is the litmus test no matter your body shape or size.

✨Do your lower abs pop out during the ab exercise? ✨

This is a tell tale sign you're not connected to your transverse abs (the deepest layer of ab muscle). And you're likely bearing down on your pelvic floor too.

If you struggle to connect to your abs, try less low back jamming into the floor - work instead on coordinating your exhale with a gentle lift and wrap while keeping your spine still!

This is a process of self discovery and experimentation. Take the cues that work best for you, and share them below!

I'm curious what helps you connect in your own body. ❤️

The best part is the epic back release you get from the @gochirp wheel - and while it's meant for stretching tight muscles, it also doubles as a spicy Pilates prop. 😉

We've got glutes, abs and inner thighs going on here, and that's just the beginning!

What kind of workouts do you want to see here? Lmk below. I take requests ❤️😆

Whether you want to improve diastasis recti or jus Whether you want to improve diastasis recti or just build a much stronger core, here is a sneak peek at the methodology in all the Belle Method classes and programs.

There is no one magical move (despite those "do this one exercise" reels favoured by the IG algorithm) 🙈

You can't run before you walk. You need to build a solid foundation.

Breathing mechanics
Tension recruitment
Pressure management
Load transfer

I get that a lot of this probably seems reeeeaaally boring and technical. You might be like "Somebody just tell me what to do already to fix my diastasis!"

I get that. It's how I feel about accounting. And taxes. And algebra. Just tell me WHAT TO DOOOO 🙃

Well, diastasis is, and isn't that simple. But imma try to make this as not boring as possible.

Not every exercise is going to be as useful to you as it might be for somewhere else. It depends on your own unique patterns, movement, strategies, and tissue baseline.

But over the last almost 20 years of teaching Pilates, I've created some general steps that apply to the vast majority of people when rebuilding a functional core.

It's pretty tough to explain that in a 25 second reel, but I did my best here! Ask questions below!

And no, it's never too late. And no there is no quick fix. And yes, it can take a year or more depending on the person.

But you are stronger and more resilient than you think. 🔥 I'm happy to show you in Core Restore.

Love
Nikki
I’m often asked things like: “What’s the bes I’m often asked things like:
“What’s the best position for pushing?”
“What’s the right way to breathe?”
“What’s the perfect birth plan?”

Here’s the truth:
The right way depends on you: your body, your preferences, your values.

There is no single “correct” way to birth a baby.

Birth prep should empower you—not pressure you to perform.
It’s not just about positions, pain, or pushing. It’s about you—your rights, your recovery, and your voice.

If you’ve ever felt like you had to earn your worth as a mom…
I hope this reaches you. You are doing your best and that is more than enough.

✨ Which one resonated most? Or what would you add to the list? ❤️
